Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to get started?

Every project is unique, with its own set of complexities and preparation. For jobs that require permits, the timeline may be extended, as additional steps are involved during planning and inspections. Before we finalize any agreement, we’ll create a detailed Gantt Chart with our best estimate of the project timeline, so you know exactly what to expect.

Is there a time of year not to start a home addition project?

While there’s no specific time of year to avoid starting a home addition or exterior renovation, there are some weather conditions that can affect certain parts of the project. For instance, frozen ground or extremely cold pipes may cause delays, and freezing temperatures or heavy rain can extend timelines, especially when it comes to tasks like painting, which requires specific weather conditions. Rest assured, we plan ahead and work around the forecast to ensure your project moves forward as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Does my job need a permit?

There are Federal, State, County, and City regulations that vary depending on where your property is located. Permits are pulled at a City or County level. A good rule of thumb is that if electrical, plumbing, or structural components are being modified, you will likely need a permit. The good news is we will handle the entire process.

What times will your team be in my house during the additon?

Our standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. If you require work over the weekend, we can accommodate that on a case-by-case basis. We prioritize our team’s well-being and family time, as we believe in giving our employees the opportunity to recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

What about Change Orders? I want to avoid unexpected costs.

We see every project as a true partnership, and part of that means thoroughly reviewing the scope of work together. If it’s included in the scope, it’s covered; if it’s not, it will be a change order. Just as we won’t charge you for anything you haven’t approved, we also cannot be held responsible for anything that wasn’t agreed upon in advance.

Are you a licensed and insured contractor?

Yes, we have general liability and workers compensation. Licensing is not required in Texas.
